Unmanned telecommunications tower Project
Introductions
This project installs a comprehensive fire safety early warning system for two Unmanned telecommunications towers in UK. They are in remote suburbs, mountainous areas, and even restricted zones. The equipment is usually run in unattended sites and for 24 hours for 7 days of uninterrupted operation and is in high temperatures. The dust and CO easily accumulate, and UPS/battery systems operate at high temperatures. There are communication disruptions or even larger safety incidents due to a fire or the accumulation of toxic gases.
Referring to the tower functional layout and operational requirements, product types, and technical characteristics, the project is comprehensively designed and planned the fire detection and alarm system with EN14604 &EN50291 fire safety regulations for this Unmanned telecommunications tower. The system uses 20pcs alarms (smoke alarms, heat alarms, CO alarms) and controllers. It enables early fire warnings, lower false alarms, easy maintenance, and emergency response in the initial fire or carbon monoxide leak stage and simultaneously sends the information to tower management by WIFI and message.
